I have been a dedicated servant leader all of my adult life and have become internationally known for my research, writing, speaking, and advocacy on sexual health, disabilities and chronic conditions. I have been a leader in the field of sexual health and in the field of disabilities for over 25 years.
I have served as President of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association Connecticut Chapter, President of the Sexuality Information and Education Council of Connecticut, and 1st Vice President of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association. I have held leadership positions on the boards of a number of national organizations including the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists; the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States; the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health; the National Advisory Council on Sexual Health, and; the Institute for the Study of Disadvantage and Disability.
Based on my standing, I was nominated to serve as a Peer Reviewer for United States Department of Education; a Peer Reviewer for the Paralyzed Veterans of America Spinal Cord Injury Education and Training Foundation; a Development Panel member for Sexuality and Reproductive Health, Clinical Practice Guidelines Paralyzed Veterans of America Consortium for Spinal Cord Medicine, and; a Participant in the PAHO Technical Consultation on Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV Prevention. I have served or currently serve on the editorial boards of Sexuality and Disability, Journal of Sexual Medicine, International Journal of Sexual Health, American Journal of Sexuality Education, and I'm a New Mobility Community Partner.
